When Belgian design meets Milan

Six emerging designers represent Belgium at the SaloneSatellite 2016. Under the name Belgium is Design, the traditional collective plat form organised by WBDM (Wallonie-Bruxelles Design Mode) once again makes its contribution to enriching this space dedicated to young creatives within the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.

Together six designers transmit a clear vision of design where meticulous research is per fectl y interwoven with the freedom of the creative act. The projects selected for this edition form a sort of portrait of emerging Belgian design: a broad reflection on the potential of materials, on the reuse and conversion of objects, on the ways of making, on the forms and finishes and storytelling. The participants are: Romy Di Donato (1984), Frédérique Ficheroulle (1988), il duo PaulinePlusLuis (Pauline Capdo -1992 e Luis Bellenger-1987), Emmanuel Vandeputte (1991), Valentin Van Ravestyn (1989) e Thien Vo (1989).

At the same time, for Fuorisalone 2016, Palazzo Litta will host the exhibition Belgian Matters, which features the results of pairings between 13 designers and companies, the latter of ten coming from sectors far removed from that of furniture design. Belgian Matters, which will occupy three rooms of the palace, is the result of work done by teams of participants who come from all three regions of Belgium (Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia).
