Vitra at Fuorisalone: CasaVitra and Vitra pop-up store

A decade ago, Vitra initiated a research project in collaboration with the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius to study the properties and possibilities of the colours, textures, finishes and materials in the company’s product portfolio. This long-term project resulted in the Vitra Colour and Material Library, which comes to life during Milan Design Week 2016 in Vitra’s 'Colour Machine' installation at the temporary location CasaVitra. The spatial installation is dedicated to the Vitra Colour & Material Library, presenting Hella Jongerius’ insights and inspirations about colours, textiles and materials. A lounge on the second level of CasaVitra is furnished with selected products from the Vitra Home Collection, providing an inviting space where visitors can linger and enjoy the atmosphere.

Vitra pop-up store
This year Vitra is taking part in the Fuorisalone with a temporary shop in the city centre. The Vitra pop-up store, in the vicinity of Corso Como, is the brand’s first point of sale with an exclusive focus on Vitra’s range of accessories. It offers items from the growing collection of colourful design objects and textiles by classic and contemporary designers.
The Vitra pop-up store, which will be open from Tuesday, 12 April until Sunday, 17 April 2016, is part of the company’s presentation during Milan Design Week. The shop offers popular items from the collection of accessories and showcases a selection of new design objects. Furthermore, customers can purchase a limited number of exclusive new products: The Colour Block Blankets and Dot Pillows created for Vitra by the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius will be available for sale.
