Salone del Mobile.Milano
Founded in 1961 as a vehicle for promoting Italian furniture and furnishings exports,
the Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the international reference point for the furnishing and design sectors.
A showcase that has always mixed business with culture, shaping the history of design and furnishing yesterday, today and tomorrow.
A global platform for truly top-notch products and services with the emphasis on innovation.
The Salone is a 360° insight into the world of furniture and furnishing accessories, presenting every kind of furnishing – from stand-alone pieces to coordinates – split into style categories, from Classic to Design, and lauching, starting from this edition, the new xLux section, which represents a synthesis of the two categories (classic and design), consisting of linear products embellished with details, finishings and warmer, softer materials.
In conjunction with the Salone del Mobile, other major trade shows are running in April such as the biennial events Euroluce (International Lighting Exhibition) and Workplace3.0/SaloneUfficio (International Workspace Exhibition) in odd editions, EuroCucina (International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition) and International Bathroom Exhibition in even editions (like 2016), and the annual International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition. The commercial trade shows were joined in 1998 by the SaloneSatellite, an exhibition intended to provide a showcase for young designers from all over the world and to facilitate their encounter with the most important manufacturers exhibiting at the Salone.
This 55th edition is completely sold out yet again, with 207,000sqm of net exhibition space and 2,310 exhibitors (30% of them foreign companies),
650 of them SaloneSatellite designers, reaffirming its position as the leading forum for ideas, creativity, innovation and technology for businesses, operators and visitors,
showcasing the latest home living styles through advanced design trends.
Over 300,000 operators from more than 160 countries and a visiting public of over 30,000 people on the Saturday and Sunday – from 12th to 17th April at the Milan Fairgrounds, Rho.
This is the Salone, at its 55th edition, running along with three important collateral events dedicated to the concepts of living, classic furnishing and architectural finishings respectively, as well as a short film signed by Matteo Garrone. Mixing business and culture is the Salone del Mobile.Milano mission.
