Appartamento Eley Kishimoto for Kirkby Design
London print and fashion studio Eley Kishimoto join forces with influential British interiors brand Kirkby Design to explore their shared passion for pattern, transforming a five room apartment in Brera to launch their collaborative collection of fabrics and wallcoverings. Promising an impactful alternative for the interiors market, rich in statement designs and powerful pattern, each design also has an individual merit, with a progressive colour palette allowing for a more demure statement. The collection captures some of the creative confidence of 1970s design but for an entirely contemporary audience.
Mark Eley of Eley Kishimoto says “the collection has an overriding feeling of nostalgia, not saying that it looks vintage, but the emotional provocation it creates is sure to stimulate the creative ideals of anyone who sees it.”
Mark Eley & Wakako Kishimoto have always strived to create work with unique, creative flair. This is their first foray into the world of woven interior textiles, harnessing the expertise of Kirkby Design to create original jacquard weaves, épingle velvets, textural chenilles and layered foil prints.
