Chi è Cosmit
Cosmit – Comitato Organizzatore del Salone del Mobile Italiano – is the company that organizes Milan's Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Salone,
as it's popularly known, was founded in 1961 thanks to the insight of a small group of furniture makers, who were the driving force of the trade association FederlegnoArredo.
A vehicle for promoting Italian furniture exports, Salone soon became the most keenly awaited event in the world of furniture.
Besides the Salone, Cosmit also organizes several other major trade shows such as the biennial events Euroluce/International Lighting Exhibition, EuroCucina/International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition,
SaloneUfficio/International Biennial Workspace Exhibition, International Bathroom Exhibition and the annual International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition.
Along with these commercial events, starting from 1998, Cosmit organizes the SaloneSatellite, that has grown to represent a launching pad for young designers
and a landmark event for all manufacturers looking for new talents.
Altogether these exhibitions are called i Saloni; open to trade visitors only, they cover a net display area of nearly 230,000 square meters at the Milan Fairgrounds in Rho.
The events showcase products manufactured by about 2,500 of the most dynamic and creative firms operating on the international market, and attract over 290,000 trade visitors,
0% of whom from more than 160 countries around the world.
Also, catering to demands from a group of loyal exhibitors at Milan's Saloni, since 2005 Cosmit has ventured outside Italy with a winning formula: the i Saloni Worldwide show.
This event takes place in Moscow in October.
