Internazionale del Mobile. A new way to understand habitat with ecodesign and natural products as olive oil, that’s the core of A Designer A Day, an exhibition at the Tortona Design Week (Opificio 31 – Tortona Locations, Via Tortona 31) where you can find one of the last creations of Spanish design team Sanserif Creatius.
Glass, oil and cardboard are the three elements that make up Moments, a modern candle Inspired by the shape of the punt and the neck of a wine bottle. Moments works like the ancient oil lamps, but it's produced in organic glass, feeds on virgin olive oil extra, and comes complete with a wick on a floating carton button.
In addition to creating a special and warm atmosphere, the new proposal of Sanserif Creatius serves for measuring time: the 12 inches of wick allows up to 10 hours of ecological illumination. In fact, the tube takes an engraving which allows you to set the time on 60 minutes piece.
Moments is part of Essence by Sanserif Creatius, an exhibition featuring the collaboration between this team of designers and a group of artisans -pottery, leather, glass and others- to reinterpret objects and pieces associated with the culture of wine and table. A project nominated for National Crafts Awards, organized by the Spanish Foundation for Innovation of Crafts (Fundesarte) and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
Moments also aims to promote the sustainability of traditional production processes and recovery of natural raw materials for the manufacture of product. In fact, the project allows the hybridization or combination of different processes and materials that are respectful with the environment, have a low impact and / or are recycled or recyclable, thus opening new product lines and leveraging these benefits or values.
These objectives have seduced the organization team of A designer A day, an event organized by Trentino, in collaboration with POLI.design and DesignHUB, that aims to enable the transfer of knowledge between SMEs, young entrepreneurs and the University. In fact, the jury of renowned professionals as the deputy director of Ottagono, Valentina Auricchio; POLI.design Manager, Matthew Ingaramo, or design critic, Valentina Croci, and others, awarded Moments oil clock with an Honour Accesit for their efforts to transcends common materials and, based on traditional techniques and crafts, reinvent the eco-design approaches and the common uses of the materials.
Eco glassware. On the other hand, and how could it be otherwise, as a firm specializes in sustainable products, Sanserif Creatius also pointed to the glass recycling. And he has done with the collection Wineries. This is a limited edition glasses and cups that aims to add value to packaging wine playing with ways to develop a contemporary and organic glassware. A collection made it in collaboration with Sara Sorribes, a well-known artisan of glass.

The profiles of wine bottles vary in the form of shoulders. But also in your neck or body, which brings remarkable aesthetic possibilities for the development of a new concept of “glassware”. And all without having to resort to new production processes, but simply by adapting the ways and measures for daily use.
