Re-definition of "Authentic Luxury" from Japanese context and embody it through original products and space

This exhibit is designed to express “Authentic luxury,” using an approach that considers the whole as a system. Such luxury can be recognized as something fundamental that forms a system, serving to deliver value from someone who creates to someone who appreciates.

Why is this called a system? Authentic luxury does not exist by itself, but rather emerges from the interactions between its three fundamental elements: an artisan, a created object, and the persons who appreciate that creation.

Artisans work to express their principles as a form of value communicated through the vehicle of their work, which then serves to embody, and allow other persons to receive the encoded principles. On their side, the receivers must have appreciation to recognize and perceive the artisans’ creed, as it reemerges as a part of their experience. Through a combination of joy and empathy, the encoded value is transmitted to each receiver, and even to those around them. In this sense, the experience of receiving can be regarded as an echo of the creed of the artisan.

In this exhibit, we attempt to embody this concept through our works, each of which can be tangibly experienced: things that can be touched, seen, worn, and tasted. All of these embody the concept of “Authentic luxury.”
