A BIT ARE

The Arch Club Al Cantiere opens its spaces hosting A BIT ARE, a project by the artists Barbara Uccelli and Gianluca Beccari, curated by Rosa Cascone. For the occasion, the artist duo exhibits an unpublished video on contemporary living, together with a performance that can only be enjoyed on the opening day.

The project investigates our modern living, analyzing the relationship between the inhabitant and the inhabited place: internal and external, private and public, isolated and interactive. Moreover, living can be described in many ways but what defines it is constancy, the habit of the individual to live in a social reality.

A BIT ARE is an art video that tells the areas where we spend more time, both outside and inside the house and that, in fact, correspond to places of passage like corridors and squares. These transit spaces, of everyone and nobody, are traveled countless times without creating relationships. The video is related to a performance on the tea ritual, in which the gesture becomes symbolic and unique while inhabiting a habit, a natural and continuous event. The path of analysis of the two artists led them to think that architecture is a system of people and its social destiny, made of aesthetics and functionality at the same time. The inhabited space contains a protagonist, the inhabitant, who creates and preserves the places for himself and for those who want to welcome, in this way the ritual is what connects the outer space with the interior.
