From the spoon to the city – Albini’s method between Architecture and Design
A journey through Franco Albini’s work, among installations, architecture and design. In the rooms of the historical Studio Albini, guests will be invited to participate in a narrative path about the history of the studio and its projects to learn how the applications of Albini’s method follow the concepts of modernity and innovation between the past, present and future.
The Milanese subway. The biggest work of social design.
In the studio where the Milanese subway was conceived, according to the design by Albini, Helg and Noorda, with project boards, images and on-site prototypes, we will propose an overview of subway systems worldwide to finally reach the Milanese Subway Lines 1 and 2 and explain the particular features that taught the world a lesson: building techniques, graphic solutions and the use of innovative materials.
Workshop for young designers
The goal of the workshop is to approach design according to Franco Albini’s methodology: decomposing and recomposing, search for essence, continuous testing of an initial idea and process control, the social responsibility related to the designer’s role and choices.
The initiative includes two different workshops:
Search for essence – the project in itself.
The workshop seeks to help participants acquire and understand the applications of Albini’s method in the search for your own passions and skills. During the workshop, children will be able to approach the “project” intended as a tool to create something that wasn’t there and at the same time to “design” and nurture their own passions.
Social responsibility – the object that isn’t there
Throughout this workshop, children will have a chance to get into contact with the “project”, intended as a tool to create something there wasn’t there and at the same time to “design” and nurture their own passions.
Theater Play:
The road of talent – an innovation experience.
“The road of talent” is an innovative project created by Fondazione Franco Albini called “Coaching Performance”. It is an experience / interdisciplinary performance that establishes a dialogue between theatrical language, coaching techniques, and music in order to involve the audience and make it the protagonist of a collective experience of growth.
