PLASTIC STONE TILES

Plastic Stone Tiles are tiles made from post-consumer plastic waste. Origin of the work were the questions, "What is waste?" and "Where is 'away'?". Waste is unused material. And there is no 'away'. The majority of the plastic waste ends up in the sea. Stranded on the beach it forms plastiglomerate. A compound of plastic and natural components. Based on this Akiev investigated rock forming processes and developed methods to give lightweight packaging waste a natural-looking rock-like appearance.
