MY MEANING_OF FLORAL DESIGN

Inspired by artists such as Mark Tobey, Jospeh Beuys, Rebecca Louis Law, from the Gropius school and the Bateson systemic vision, "My Meaning" is an installation of Floral Art that expresses Gabriela Grandi’s personal interpretation of floral design, culturally perceived only as a simple ornamental form.

The floral design is instead a different perspective of an emotional story, which explores new times and new spaces and takes shape from the principles of design, from the revision of relations and from the application of philosophical visions.

The floral design describes, to the artist, an unknown time: when the flower stops to be fresh, for the common sense, it’s no longer beautiful; but after its conventional beauty, it turns and assumes unexpected shapes and colors.

That’s why, paradoxically, it expresses a non-conventional aesthetic: the flower is not the end of what you know, but the beginning of what you do not expect.

Fragile and firmly tenacious, it imposes its status, for a natural and uncontrollable time, to become a cathartic place and involve the spectator into an exclusive experience.

"My meaning" is about a relationship and its evolution in a story of lightness and beauty. It plays unconventional balances and unknown state of self, in order to let emerge and flow contrasts.

The installation will change daily, using time, space, context and the personal vision of the spectator to exhibit the natural change of a relationship, as well as the natural change of flowers.

The installation will be also an invitation to set up a floral design Manifesto, today inexistent: compared to the serial production of the florist, floral designer uses immagination, empathy, vision, reading of the context, knowledge, culture, blending with complementary disciplines, the ability to design and the constant research, to draw a new wellness dimension.
