CO-ABITAZIONI. Kikoko solo exhibition

On Wednesday 18 April, CO-ABITATIONS will be inaugurated at the Milan Art & Events Center. Personal exhibition of Kikoko. Over 40 works by the Togo artist will be on display, representing his vast production and the richness of his poetic and artistic message. The journalist Aldo Caserini writes about him: "Kikoko's works reflect and transform cosmologies and traditions linked to different experiences, from rupestrian signs to primitivism and ethnic interpretations, from French eclecticism to the manipulations of the post-expressionist repertoire, from the bizarre German mixture to the surrender innocent of Italian lyricism, at the naive rounds, etc. It maintains its own personal iconic charge, pleasing itself to make it less instinctive and "original" and more creative, approximating to forms of street art. In his acrylics on cardboard, jute and mixed techniques Kikoko often hides facts, events, references to places and journeys, avoiding in any case to enter into a direct relationship with the dominant thought and power. Basically his works claim shared places, the sense of belonging to a social and cultural fabric. They are entrusted to color and to the graphic sign and recall hyperbolic characters, imaginary situations, fantastic settings.
