La Cucitoria and Les Coléoptères

During the next Design Week 2018, la Cucitoria di Sonja Tagliavini will host the fantastic eramic beetles of Les Coléoptères  in its Atelier in Via Disciplini.

Sonja Tagliavini demonstrates, as always, a particular attention to the novelties of the design world and decides to dedicate its showcase to the Italian designer Maurizio Minerva.

Maurizio Minerva, graphic designer and art director freelance and, for some years, ceramist.

He lives between Rome, Tel Aviv and the Salento of which he is originally from.

He has worked for over 20 years in international advertising agencies that he has permanently left to dedicate his creativity to new forms of artistic expression.

He studied ceramics for 3 years in Paris with Emmanuelle Wittman where he learned the techniques of lathe, modeling, engobe, colombino and enamelling.

The project "Les Coléoptères", ceramic beetles inside wooden cases, was born for just over a year and combines the passions of Maurizio Minerva for nature, design, graphics and ceramics.

Each beetle is a unique piece, modeled, enameled and decorated by hand; inspired by truly existing creatures, each of them is characterized by an original and unique decoration that, with the choice of colors, makes them live again through unrepeatable metamorphoses.

Each piece is marked and has a serial number on the back.

Integral parts of the project, graphics and packaging, enhance shapes and materials of each beetle.
