Madras is a commercial artisanal reality that has been strongly rooted in the “Isola” district for over thirty years, of undisputed experience in the field of coatings, coverings and curtains.

Over the years, thanks to its art-passionate owner Teodoro Russo, many co-operations were born with other professionals, among whom the architects Marta Filoscia and Cinzia Mancinelli.

From this co-operation derived from common intents and passions, the idea of ​​presenting an alternative path through textile products arose.

Madras decides there fore to propose Ditieffe, an established company in the field of textile creations, and its owner Ivan Formaggini to make the friendly reflections initially shared with the architects, become real. This could be done proposing the final customer new and original utilization and applications of common materials.

“START– textile printing” derives from a triple connection among the architect-designer, the experienced artisan and the innovative company. The Salone del Mobile is the right occasion to start with the innovative possibilities and opportunities offered by digital printing in the textile field. Thanks to this set-up it will be possible to show what digital printing can offer if applied to the textile field.

Starting from painting and figurative arts, real passions for Mr. Russo of Madras, it was decided to enjoy the art no longer as spectators, but through a concrete and tactile experience where tissue is the main undisputed protagonist when linked to the opportunities offered by digital printing.

The artistic emotion can be transferred and declined to other materials like tissue for example, giving way to new emotional impact even through a simple padded chair.

From April 17th to 21nd it is possible to see all this at the Madras Showroom.
