April 2018

The IIS "Marelli Dudovich" Milan and the fashion department have created an educational path linked to the world at work on the subject of brides from 17 to 20 April 2018. The exhibition of the studies of the students of the Institute includes drawings, moods, concept, prototypes, historical analysis of some items, an example of "static show".

On 17-18-19 and 20 April, IIS Marelli Dudovich proposes an educational research on the subject of brides. The wedding dress has evolved over time, but it is still a femininity symbol for contemporary women managers and postmodern women. The young designers have proposed fashion sketches considering the most current proposals of wedding dresses, the most appreciated brands by the press, the sophisticated tailoring research, the luxury proposals, the franchising ideas and the new ready-to-wear wedding forms. You can admire moods, moodboards, the concepts of different work groups. We analyze the new materials, fabrics, applications, industrial embroidery, laser cuts, CAD APP prints, traditional embroidery, fabrics from other countries. The process of sublimation, in the digital printing sector, is the transformation that the inks undergo when, coming into contact with the heat, they are transformed into gas (sublimate) and are joined in a stable manner to the polyester surface. Sublimation is achieved thanks to inkjet printers. The prototypes made allow us to consider the paths proposed in these years by the teachers of the Fashion Section Institute.

Examples of sartorial prototypes, sustainable research and volumetric proposals with the moulage technique. The transition from artisanal research to companies of industrial solutions of the bride, international aspects, intercultural projects, always romantic in time.

"The exhibition on the theme of the wedding dress reinterpreted in a funny and ironic way for an excursus from craftsmanship to design, realized with the works of the students of the Textile Sartorial productions address, will be open during school hours". Maria Teresa Tancredi

The design of a wedding dress, to be realized in serial production, has been transformed from the franchise with Spanish industrial lace to the Pronto Moda production with international brands. The route will be proposed in a video of images.

Lifestyles are made so that the products are available with different materials. In lace, with printed fabric, in silk with a polyester voile and finally in green regenerated polyester and silk made from corn.

Why present a SPOSE project in the context of the fuorisalone Milano Italy? The serial production of artisanal prototypes, well defined and designed in the context of new cultural trends, are precious elements and valued by international creatives. The most crafted example of clothing was always the wedding dress. Today in the serial production, in the competition of examples of franchising and ready-to-wear Sopsa we tried to explore the new ways and design systems. The example of fabrics designed with APP, either manually or with pattern software and then digitally printed at low cost are an example of the proposals of young digital native creative. In these years the students of the IIS Marelli Dudovich have always proposed questites, in reference to the didactic paths, to the guests of the events. Also this year a questionnaire will be distributed with reference to the following questions: why Milan, the capital of design? When did it become the capital of design? Why Milan is considered the capital of FASHION / fashion design?

The historical brief, with numerous graphic drawings of the students, allowed to analyze the wedding garments through time. Even today, elegant and romantic clothes actually refer to details of historical items from different periods. One can not fail to notice the "mantle robe" of the seventeenth century Dutch, the French eighteenth-century engageantes, the narrow line at the waist or the Napoleonic Empire line with a high waist.
