New Craft

At the New Craft exhibition curated by Stefano Micelli for the XXI Triennale International Exhibition Milan dedicated to design enthusiasts under 35, the Istituto Europeo di Design will showcase eyeBike, an electric city bike in carbon fibre designed by Lorenzo Perna, a 2015 graduate of IED Rome in Product Design, and developed in collaboration with the company F&N Compositi of Nicola Del Vecchio. EyeBike revisits the traditional shape of the electric bike and offers a younger, bolder version. The frame comes either standard or personalised. The electrical components are produced by the Italian company Zehus, who integrated the battery and motor inside the hub mounted on the rear wheel. The project used Lorenzo's thesis as a starting point (supervisor, Marika Aakesson) and was then developed directly by the company. 

Also featured will be the installation Appunti sulla melodia delle cose by Annalisa Cocco, Coordinator of the Product Design programme in Cagliari, a work composed of traditional and innovative baskets made in Sardinia.
