Entrainment is a meditative concept and law of physics, in which internal rhythms of living beings synchronize with external rhythms. Composer Ferdinando Arnò’s 50-minute modern pagan mantra, Entrainment, harnesses this phenomenon’s collaborative power with its eclectic musical moods.

At The Teatro dell’Arte, eclectic composer Ferdinando Arnò will debut a transcendent 50-minute composition, Entrainment. The performance is produced by La Triennale di Milano, in partnership with the production house quiet, please!, as part of Milan’s annual Design Week program. Entrainment breaks down the boundaries between artist and audience, fostering the ideal creative synergy for this new piece. At the performance, the 20-piece ensemble—including string section, spoken word performer, guitar and electronics—will put the audience in a meditative headspace through a highly emotional composition that journeys through different musical influences like a modern pagan mantra. To set the mood before, Entrainment, the audience will be participate in a performance of iconic avant-garde composer Pauline Olivero’s “Tuning Meditation.” The event’s collaborative nature will give people an in-the-moment chance to be part of the creative process.

The term Entrainment refers to the meditative concept, and law of physics, where internal rhythms of living beings synchronize with external rhythms. Entrainment flows to the pulse and mood of the audience through a synergistic artistic connection.
