During the days of the Milan Furniture Fair, 7 - 8 - 9 April, on the second floor of Palazzo Crivelli, in the heart of the Brera neighborhood, the auction house Casa d’Aste Il Ponte will exhibit the items to be auctioned for public viewing. The exhibit, included among the “Off Fair” events for the first time, provides an opportunity for enthusiasts, collectors and sector professionals to view about 450 lots of historic design pieces and decorative art objects of the 1900s.
The exhibit faithfully represents Italian design of the 1900s, including objects, lighting elements and décor items – including some one of a kind pieces – by Gio Ponti, BBPR, Franco Albini, Ignazio Gardella, Carlo Scarpa, Carlo De Carli, Paolo Buffa, Ico Parisi, Angelo Lelii, Gino Sarfatti, Pietro Chiesa, Ettore Sottsass, Osvaldo Borsani and many others.
Of particular interest are an oak credenza designed in 1941 by the BBPR studio and a number of works by Gio Ponti.
In addition, there are many Murano glass items, an important collection of ceramic art pieces, including a selection of works by Nanni Valentini and Piero Gauli, and a small section devoted to Scandinavian design items.
