Bar Crops and Props

The Department of Promotion of International Trade proudly presents the showcases of Thailand’s new generation of design. From Superstudio Piu, Slow Hand Design arrives in Ventura Lambrate with the exhibition Bar Crops and Props, that will be staged during the Milan Design Week 2016 (April 12 to 17). It is a thematic exhibition curated by Eggarat Wongcharit, a pioneer of Thailand’s design industries, which will showcase on this occasion best of the best 20 best 20 designer’s products from this country.

The exhibition Bar Props and Crops reflects the idea of ​​the agricultural consuming via product design and manufacturing that focuses on ecological awareness. The new aspect of approaching design with techno-crafts production are further developed but still retaining its refined craftsmanship roots.

Slow Hand Design debuted in 2011 as a curatorial design roadshow project of Thailand Institute of Design and Innovation Promotion and from that moment it showcases the storytelling of the local design DNA, creating brand value on export products that became more and more lifestyle oriented, recognized with positive feedback among global public and media.

Since then, design industry assumed an increasingly important role, raising the competitiveness of Thai products and services in the global market. Value creation, support and promotion of design and creativity are of primary importance in Thailand and the country is now one of the leaders in this area. This has greatly enhanced the country's image as a “trusted” and reliable source of the highest quality products and services.

Slow Hand Design continued to support the design during the Design Week in Milan with the exhibitions at Superstudio Piu, with different thematic content, until Bar Crops & Props of this year, which will give a new meaning to the Thai design. Numerous successful projects have been started, closely related to the eco-friendly and food world.

Bar Crops & Props is a project managed by Slow Hand Design, in cooperation with Demark Excellence Award, the Thai award created in 2008 to give visibility to new local design products in the international market.
