A Private View; Eric Egan hosts Fromental
Eric Egan’s design practice L’Artigianato, is located in a wonderful late 19th century building overlooking Castello Sforzesco in Milan. Taking over the tenancy in 2014, Eric is only the third occupant in the space and his practice has spent the last three years restoring the apartment ensuring they preserved the original charm and character, reading more as a quirky and personal residence than a traditional office.
For Salone del Mobile, Fromental has developed a new custom hand painted chinoiserie for the winter garden/conference room. The chinoiserie is based on the designs of Carlo Antonio and Vittorio Raineri who worked in Lombardy and Liguria in the late 18th century and reflects the Lombardy style of cosmopolitan and exotic Neoclassicism. The first of three Fromental wall coverings to feature in the apartment, the hand painted panels have taken over 1700-man hours to showcase the expertise of the Fromental’s artisans. The chinoiserie design will also be installed in the new Mandarin Oriental Lake Como, which opens the week of Furniture Fair.
Further rooms in the space will feature Fromental’s new Bargello design, an architectural print in custom colours and Fromental’s Foliage on a custom-built screen.
