Dassault Systèmes presents “Design in the Age of Experience”, an interactive experience reflecting our changing world, including a series of conferences and open conversations with leading designers and innovators, as well as an immersive installation “Interfaces” with Morphosis. This exclusive event reveals how design and technology can combine to create a more sustainable, resilient and regenerative world.
During “Design in the Age of Experience”, Dassault Systèmes will bring together an international group of designers and innovators to discuss many of the pressing topics of our time under different daily themes: MATTER, HUMAN, SPACE, ART OF LIVING, SOCIAL FORWARD.
Speakers, such as Cristiano Ceccato (Zaha hadid architects), Patrick Jouin (Designer), Oke Hauser (Creative Lead, Mini Living), Laura Teicher (Greentown Labs), Gianluca Brugnoli (Mckinsey&Company), Hélène Huret (Bernardaud), Thomas Vallette (Stanley Black & Decker) and Masahiko Yamagishi (Honda power Products) will address subjects such as the complexities of responsible material use; the delicate relationship between design and human experience; our evolving urban ecosystems; and design’s role in advocating social change; as well as provide some future-gazing positioning on the resilient cities of tomorrow. Dassault Systèmes will present a playground where visitors can experience how designers and companies are solving societal and sustainability challenges with its solutions. A live experience with a hackathon will also be organized to help industry experts innovate and create artificial data cityscapes that become part of the urban fabric. The DATAVIRONMENT Hackathon Challenge will present five participating teams with a hands-on opportunity to design the future data-centric city using Dassault Systèmes’ iconic design solutions CATIA and SOLIDWORKS. Hackathon teams will get the chance to team with industry experts, engage with Dassault Systèmes’ developers to create their designs. They will have to present their solutions to a panel of judges who will choose the winners.
The central piece of Dassault Systèmes’ event Design in the Age of Experience will be “Interfaces”, an immersive installation in collaboration with renowned architecture practice Morphosis. This is Dassault Systèmes’ latest collaboration with influential members of the design community to reinforce its mission to create a more sustainable, resilient and regenerative world through design.
This interactive experience examines how pioneering innovations can drive change in our cities, mobility networks, energy use and daily endeavors in order to reduce humankind’s damaging impact on our planet.
With input from Morphosis' key thought leaders Thom Mayne, Kerenza Harris and Eric Meyer, “Interfaces” examines the role of design thinking when applied to real-world issues facing urban environments today and in the future. (Click and discover the story behind the collaboration)
The exhibition takes as its content real models and data from Morphosis’ projects, designed with Dassault Systèmes’ software solutions. Using augmented reality and digital projection, "Interfaces" immerses viewers in an interplay of data and decisions embedded in the contemporary design process. Animated rotating panels are transformed into interfaces that connect human experience to contemporary design environments: solar and energy efficiency studies, human experience parameters such as interior climate, material economies, production streams and the building’s relationship to its urban context.
