Cocina De La Tierra

The sacred practice of cooking meals and the passing down of oral histories is a foundation of familial culture. Cocina De La Tierra is a sound installation, where viewers are invited to listen to anecdotal stories from former migrant farmworkers. This is a space of honoring the immigrant communities from which we get food in the United States. Altars built with objects of Mexican culinary antiquity serves to challenge the current state of commercial food consumption within the United States.
