The Consulate General of Peru in Milan promotes, in collaboration with Lima Design Week and Venice Design Week, meetings on design and an exhibition during the Milan Design Week 2019.
Design becomes an occasion for designers and citizens to meet, events are included in the Fuorisalone circuit: Milano Centrale district and fuorisalone.it.
The goal is to build an open dialogue between the two cultures.
On display are architectural projects, craft and industrial products, the exhibition is developed through compositions that integrate figurative arts, artefacts and projects to invite the public to immerse themselves in contemporary Peruvian culture. The dialogue between the works of Peruvian and Italian designers takes us on an ideal journey between Milan and Lima.
The Consulate General of Peru based in Milan, since 2010, has supported some of the designers selected to support their growth path. The "Milano Lima Round Trip" exhibition promoted by the Lima Design Week and Venice Design Week Associations is a selection that aims to grow synergies and collaborations between the two countries. The search for socio-cultural identity is expressed here through the subjective interpretations of each designer and range between art, design and contemporary architecture. Cultural syncretism takes us into the language of furniture and contemporary architecture. Design, art and design become a means of multicultural integration between Peru and Italy. An example between different techniques and materials we have in the light installations of Ana Maria Reque that blends techniques of ceramic and Murano glass blowing. Italian and Peruvian design meet in an exhibition that highlights the productive capacities of the two cultures.
On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2019, the Consulate General of Peru in Milan promotes, in collaboration with Lima Design Week and Venice Design Week, meetings on design and an exhibition in the multi-purpose room of the Consulate which thus becomes a multicultural platform.
