Communicating reality with colors and the use of materials between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design
The exhibited works want to represent the reality metaphorically, expressing it not in words but with the colors and the use of materials, looking through the works to achieve the maximum communicative effect in the shortest possible time, exploring at the same time the key aspects of sustainability, Elena Kihlman's exhibition celebrates the beauty and creativity of reinventing designs with materials coming from processing waste, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Elena Kihlman has always been at the forefront on the subject of innovation and sustainability, while at the same time paying great attention and respect to the traditional textile tradition. It creates its fabrics using wool, silk and systemically reusing and recycling processing residues such as remnants of wool, felt and leather. Each design and color tends to be unique.
