“TRIBUTE” LAUNCH – SALONE DEL MOBILE 2019
The Founders
Tribute was founded by Andrey Shvidkiy and Giulio Brambilla in 2018. The creative process of the first collection took place in New York, Miami, Paris and Milan, combining views and ideas with professional experience and visual preferences – having so a truly global approach. The aesthetic and manufacturing principles are based on the different background but similar taste of the two founders.
Andrei Shvidkiy, born in Russia, now lives in New York. He graduated from Istituto Marangoni and adds an understanding of trends and styles to the brand, having been working in the fashion industry for many years now. Giulio Brambilla is an architect and interior designer from Milan with many years of experience in the furniture business and a personal network of trusted artisans spread throughout Italy. Together they have created Tribute, at the interface of modern fashion and classical Italian design.
Company Profile
Tribute is an Italian made-to-measure furniture and light fixtures brand, whose concept is to produce high-end pieces for modern interiors. The capsule collection that will be presented at Salone del Mobile consists of seating solutions (sofas, armchairs, benches, stools), tables (dining tables, side tables, consoles), lighting and mirrors.
All products are uniquely designed with a rétro appeal and crafted by experienced artisans with the use of exclusive materials, such as brass. It is precious and rare, difficult to produce and work with but the result is pure magic: a warm and bright material reflecting light beautifully.
Tribute’s Philosophy
With the Tribute collections, Andrey and Giulio want to revive Italian mid-century modern furniture culture and bring it to beautiful houses all over the world. This applies not only to fancy design but to exclusiveness of every item. “We give our customers (mostly architects, retailers and contractors) the possibility to personalize each piece for their projects, both individual and commercial, in terms of size, color, fabric, and finishing.“
Tribute is an homage to the Italian art of living and luxury of the ‘50s: the age of one-of-a-kind design pieces and exceptional quality. This is a tribute to an era of avant-garde architecture, shiny sport cars and splendid lifestyle.
The Collection
At the exposition, set during Milan Furniture Fair, almost 50 brand new pieces created by the Tribute design team will be showcased. The collection is inspired by the beautiful age of the ‘50s, with its upscale style and refined aesthetic. The pieces match perfectly with each other so to give an interior visual cohesiveness. Finishings are made of polished or matt brass with the addition of glass, mirrors, and colorful Venetian marbles (used for the restoration of some churches in Venice as well). The exclusive fabrics are made of cotton, velvets in rich shade of colors and mélange tweeds.
The Venue
The presentation will be held in a 200 m² apartment that still bears the unique design of the original project of the ‘50s. It is located on via Senato 13, just a few steps away from the famous via Monte Napoleone: right in the heart of Milan’s design and fashion district.
With this exposition, visitors will have the chance to have a multi-sensorial experience of the lifestyle of that beautiful era. For this purpose the luxurious apartment has been set-up with a terrific mix of Art Deco and mid-century pieces, artworks and plants. All of this will be completed by music, elegant perfumes, and delicious appetizers.
Editors and professionals can book a private tour and will be able to enjoy a complimentary welcome breakfast every morning from 10 AM to 1 PM. Every evening from 6 PM music and cocktails will create a friendly atmosphere to meet guests.
Partnership
Tribute works in collaboration with French luxury fragrance brand Diptyque and Olfattorio Bar à Parfums, to create a special fragrance tour inside the apartment.
All artwork decorating the space is offered by RIBOT gallery by Monica Bottani, a dynamic space dedicated to contemporary art. The gallery was opened in Milan in April 2015 with the aim of enriching the city’s artistic scene through the creation of exhibitions that promote the work of established and emerging international artists.
In addition to the Tribute creations, the apartment will host a selection of works by Marco Reichert (Berlin, 1979), an author who combines traditional painting techniques with the digital technology tools. Large-format canvases and works on paper animate the space through fluid touches of ink and acrylic paint, combined with clear and precise lines drawn with “pictorial machines” built by the artist himself.
The space is also decorated with beautiful rugs in partnership with the Italian brand Tessuti.
