“Refugee”
Koning Willem I College presents its winning furniture and product designers.
A few months ago Koning Willem I College from The Netherlands presented its students in Furniture Design and Human Technology at a daring challenge:
‘Design and manufacture an interactive and sustainable product within the ‘Refugee’ theme.
In addition to regional and recycled materials, students could also use existing designs or concepts, designing their product within this social theme. The results were judged by a select group of experts: Dutch designer Jeroen Wand, designer and teacher Raymond Hilhorst and teacher Maikel van den Berg.
The prize designs will be on display at Ventura Future during the Designweek 2018. The winning students will also attend the Designweek. These talented youngsters are:
· Luke van Roosmalen with ‘Choose!
· Lisa van Kampen and Demi Hendriks with ‘Refugee’
· Judith Iersel and Ralf Gloudemans with ‘The tower of turning stories’
· Maxime van Dongen with ‘The captured perseverance’
