For his 4th participation to Ventura Projects design fairs in Milan, the Argentinean artist Daniel González presents a unique 3D wallpaper concept in Mylar and a selection of sequinned flower pots in unique pieces.

Besides the long-lasting artistic production of embroidered works with sequins and pearls, González develops projects in-between art and design, usually presented in art galleries, museums, festivals and fairs worldwide. His artworks can be used, like the flower pots, conceived as unique packaging for potted plants with hand-sewn sequins on canvas, passed through or simply hang on the wall, like the 3D wallpaper and curtains in Mylar.

Debuting at the first edition of Ventura Future in Milan, the 3D wallpaper concept by Daniel González is based on a unique collage technique employing Mylar (metallic polypropylene) as main raw material. The artist takes this technique to a further step in order to create wonder inside the living space, like ephemeral works of design inviting us to celebrate every moment of our lives, pondering through its dazzle the delicate minimalist compositions.

Carefully cut-out by hand, each Mylar stripe defines the surface of this wallpaper concept, densely-stitched intersecting stripes, which generate an interplay of light and reflections. The 3D wallpaper by Daniel González models natural and artificial light in the living space creating a unique interior design solution for living rooms, library walls, interconnecting areas, hallways and studios.

The 3D wallpaper premiering in Milan, is the first realization from a whole design collection of wallpapers in Mylar, previously exhibited as site-specific art installation in Valentina Bonomo contemporary art gallery, Rome (2015), MADE, Berlin (2011) and Diana Lowenstein contemporary art gallery, Miami (2010).

Inspired by childhood memories, when his Italian grandmother turned tomato cans into plant pots for spices, Daniel González creates flower pots in hand-sewn sequins with catch phrases and parodies of personal moments. The artist uses sequins, pearls and other light-reflecting materials in order to include light in the visual composition of the work of art. This natural element makes every work different by the light changes throughout the day.

Each flower pot is a unique one-off piece with an interior structure in stainless steel with water drainage system, suitable to all kind of potted plants, for in- and outdoor use. The outer surface is resistant to water and natural light rays.
