Philip Aduatz and incremental3d showcase experimental objects at Milan Design Week 2018
Product Designer Philipp Aduatz and startup company incremental3d teamed up for a group exhibition at this year’s first edition of Ventura Future taking place during Milan Design Week 2018 to show innovative and experimental applications of construction materials in product design. Highlight of this collaboration on show will be a lounger 3d printed with a new technology from concrete.
Philipp Aduatz is an Industrial Designer from Vienna creating experimental unique objects and editions at an interface between design and art. Working with innovative materials and fabrication technologies, Aduatz is very much influenced by scientific matters such as chemistry, physics and material technologies.
Incremental3d is a startup company from Austria founded in September 2017 by Georg Grasser, Johannes Ladinig and Lukas Härtenberger. They have been doing research in the field of concrete printing the last years together at the University of Innsbruck in Austria and have developed a new and innovative technology for concrete 3d printing: unlike other concrete printers, this technology allows to print very fine and detailed freeform geometries very fast with a high resolution closely to the already established Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3d printing technology with polymers. No molds or support structures are necessary, the freedom of form has a new meaning with this process by using robots.
For the Milan Design Week 2018 Philipp Aduatz and incremental3d decided to team up for a group exhibition. The basic concept of the exhibition is to show innovative and experimental applications of construction materials in product design. There will be new experimental unique pieces like the “Gradient Tiles Chair” or the “Cloud Chair” by Philipp Aduatz on display as well as realized other projects designed and produced by incremental3d. The main project of the exhibition will be a 3D printed concrete chaise designed by Philipp Aduatz and developed in collaboration with incremental3d. The concept is to use the new technology developed by incremental3d for a complex freeform design by Philipp Aduatz and show the new possibilities of creating complex shapes in an application for furniture design. It is further the aim to show the synergy of the experimental and scientific approach on design by Philipp Aduatz with a company that has developed a new technology and looking for applications.
