RIVAVIVA ECO AWARDS2018

"High ecological vocation" furnishing projects will host the contest the first "RivaViva Eco Awards" during the Milan Design Week 2018. On show in the RivaViva Space of the Isola district, a dialogue between the artisan knowledge of the "Sarajevo School" (signed by characters such as Salih Teskeredzic and Mustafa Cohadzic for Artisan and Gazzda) and the eco-sustainable artifacts created by Riva Arredamentie That mix will be the winner, almost a magic formula, able to combine nature, innovation, beauty and well-being. During the Design Week in Milan, the design, health and sustainability will be competing: Riva Furnishing is launching The First “ Rivaviva Eco Awards” that will be awarded to the best ecological furniture.

In the Space RivaViva the area of the Isola district, in addition to the exclusive work of the wood designed and signed by the historic brand brianzolo, the furniture created by the designers of the “Sarajevo School” will arrive and will be represented by the company Artisan and Gazzda that collaborates with the famous international designers like Salih Teskeredzic and Mustafa Cohadizic – tha have the skills and dexterity of the wood carvings from the local tradition that only RivaViva represents exclusively throughout Italy.

Each piece displayed in the showroom, is made with love and refined craftsmanship and each piece does not represent just the piece of the furniture but it represents also the examples of modern decorative art. The task to vote will be up to journalists and public to decide which piece represents best the synthesis between the nature, beauty and the innovation (the journalists will award Exclusive Eco Award 2018 and the public will award the Testing Eco Award 2018).

The keyword of the event is a “zero impact” life that doesn’t exclude beauty. This is not just the choice that favors the environment but it also favors those who live in the house and its furnishings. This design is the result of effective combination of materials (that do not contain harmful substances such as solvents, petroleum, formaldehyde and other toxic elements) and the design intelligence. A design that is “healthy, beautiful and sustainable.”

The appointment for all is scheduled for Thursday, April the 19th from 10:00 am to 20:00 pm, during this time the journalists and the public will be able to visit the exhibited space and contribute by giving their vote in the competition whose theme is:” The Ecological Furniture”. The final award ceremony will take place during the evening event that will occur on May 10th.

For the entire duration of the Eco Awards, RivaViva in the partnership with Legambiente, will launch the operation “One eco-furniture one tree”: for every sold piece, RivaVivs will plant a new tree in an area of the province of Milan, that tree will bear the name of the person who made the purchase.

RivaViva is also a partner of Green Island 2018 owned by Claudia Zanfi, the first project that brought the design to the streets of the Isola District and that has always developed dissemination and cultural promotion action in the field of the environmental protection, of eco design and of creative education considering the theme of the green spaces and sustainability.
