olfactory ceramics

CASA GIFU III - olfactory ceramics is a project exploringancestral ceramic know-how from the Gifu Prefecture. The values of Japanese artisans and Swiss designers merge cultures and ages to become olfactory home products.

Since its creation in 2016, the CASA GIFU project is composed of a collection of manufactured objects from the Gifu Prefecture in Japan. CASA GIFU III is the third of a series of cultural exhibitions, taking place during Milano Design Week 2018. The events present the close collaboration between the Swiss design studio atelier oï (CH) and the Japanese manufacturers.

The showroom olfactory ceramics highlights the ancient ceramic crafts from Gifu, a unique region in central Japan where more than half of the entire Japanese ceramic production is manufactured (tiles & household items). Developed with three manufacturing companies from the region, each representing a unique ceramic know-how, the handmade creations designed by atelier oï embody a first edition of scented home products. They pay tribute to traditional craftsmanship, materials and sensory moments. The selected fragrance which accompanies the objects is a sophisticated pinewood essential oil, sustainably made from the best local and natural ingredients in Gifu. The olfactory ceramics will be on sale during the fair; a fusion moment you will want to bring to your home.

Come and experience them in our new location on Corso Garibaldi 42, in the Brera Design District!
