During the Milan Design Week, Linda Bajàre is pleased to announce the inauguration of the exhibition Passion, an important artistic project presenting for the first time in Italy the international artists Artis Nīmanis and Aivars Kisnics, at D Studio in Via della Spiga 7, Milan.

Art and design, painting and sculpture, two forms of art presented through the originality of Latvian artists who, together with the strong expressive charge of their works, focus their attention on the importance of technical research and experimentation on the subject.

Gesture, passion, refinement, essentiality of forms and sign are traits that unite the artists, as the profound dexterity that transpires in their works: works full of feeling, of emotion, able to enchant the viewer by transporting him on a journey towards the Infinity.

A research that develops in the "inner landscapes" of Kisnics through an elegant chromatic choice, where pictorial layers wisely superimposed on the canvas embody the changeability of the conditions and states of mind of what he defines the most important "forces of nature", the sea and the human being. For Nīmanis it takes shape in the rigor and sinuousness of the forms that, through the illusion created by light and the transparencies of glass and other materials, lead the viewer's gaze on a journey to the borders of time and space, towards the mystery of creation.

The prestigious location in Via della Spiga in Milan, in the heart of the fashion district, becomes an ideal setting to show in Italy the works of two internationally known artists, from Europe to the United States, to the Far East.

"All my works are multi-layered abstractions, composed of ten to thirty layers, carefully designed to enhance every mood," says Aivars Kisnics recounting his works: abstract landscapes that tell of sunsets, sunrises, wind and pools of water, horizons and chromatic games related to the theme of the sea.

Next to them he exchanges the magic of the sculptures of Artis Nīmanis, where glass, gold, silver and bronze bring us back, in a play of mirrors and visual effects rendered by light, to the origin of the universe: mysterious places and to be discovered, in which each of us, as in a maze, can find his own intimate and personal journey.

Passion, like the impetus that guides the artistic research of two Masters able to amaze and excite the observer. Passion, like the sentiment that inspired the curator Linda Bajàre in the realization of this important project: an exhibition dedicated to art and design as the origin of creation.

ARTISTS PRESENTED:
AIVARS KISNICS (Latvia, 1955)
Born and raised in Latvia, Kisnics approaches art from an early age, participating in numerous painting and photography competitions. During the times of Soviet occupation he is forced to abandon the art, to fulfill the career of ship captain in the Baltic Sea. From 2005 he resumed painting and devoted himself completely to the oil on canvas technique of the school of abstract expressionism. The close relationship with the sea, where he spent most of his life, is the leitmotif and source of inspiration for his paintings, where he transmits the emotion that the seascapes give, the beauty of dawn and the magic of the sunsets, moments of perfect quiet and serenity, in contrast with the strong energy of the storms and the torment of the waves.

ARTIS NĪMANIS (Latvia, 1978)
Artis Nīmanis is one of the most famous Latvian contemporary artists: his works have been exhibited both in solo shows and in collective exhibitions all over the world, from Europe to the United States, up to Japan. During almost twenty years of research on the art of glass Nīmanis has based its work on technology and innovation, achieving an artistic result of the highest level. The fragility of glass, combined with a great variety of materials such as gold, silver, bronze and others, make these sculptures unique and magical.
His aesthetic sense of stylized forms, lines, rhythm, impulse, emotion and sensuality, and the treatment and perception of the fluidity of art, make Nīmanis appear among the greatest glass artists in Europe.
