EARTHLANDS

 

From April 12 to the 17th of 2016, Milan’s Spazioborgogno Gallery at Ripa di Porta Ticinese 113 will host art designer Angela Ardisson’s most recent work.
 

EARTHLANDS are the countless expressions of texture created by the fusion of multiple metals, oxidized and melted into one another, generating marks and drawings that evoke timeless landscapes.

 

The organic treatments that the works undergo are the result of many years of experimentation.

 

The metal is structural material, used to build essential and functional forms, stripped of any constructive excess, faithful to their own role.

 

There are the self-sustaining shelving unit, living room table, chairs and light fixtures.

 

A project void of virtuosity, in which art designer Angela Ardisson takes part as the initiator of the cadence, allowing the metals themselves to be transformed on their own terms and to react naturally.

 

The spontaneous and uncontrolled expression of chromatic tonalities, always different from one another,

identifies each piece of furniture as unique, Earthlands can be considered a collection ‘in production’.

 

During the fuori salone, it will be possible to see the light sculpture ‘Lais’, produced by Baxter in brass and LED, at the Baxter Cinema in Milan’s Largo Augusto.

 

Angela Ardisson, biography

Angela Ardisson was born in Tuscany in 1966. She started on her creative path at the age of 20 and works as a graphic designer, art director and art designer. In 2000 she opened the Artplayfactory Design Studio where she continues her experimentation with different materials and techniques, incorporating craft and skills learned over time; first learned as an autodidact, this knowledge then became indispensable to the personal working concept that distinguish her works throughout the world.
