A theatrical labyrinth of bamboo hedges to narrate the career of the world-famous graphic designer and publisher who has created the coordinated image of the kitchen brand since the 1960s.
It all began in 1963 with an acronym and a brand “Super Cucine Italiane Componibili” (Modular Italian Super-Kitchens) that is Scic: a spelling trick that resembled "chic", a French word, yet used and known universally. Today, on the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2017, the Scic showroom hosts an installation created by Franco Maria Ricci to celebrate half a century of collaboration, complicity and friendship.
Lost in green, each visitor is led to discover the newest kitchen launched by Scic, included in the new “Programma Labirinto” collection, which sees Franco Maria Ricci’s dream re-interpreted through the emotional intervention of the artist Giovanni Bressana. Art and functionality come together to convey an oneiric picture in which the kitchen itself turns into a six-metre-long canvas as the work of art comes to life by means of natural metal oxidation techniques.
