BRAZIL S/A: WITH “BE BRASIL”, THE BRAZILIAN DESIGN GETS TO THE HEART OF FUORISALONE FROM APRIL 3 TO 9
Brazil S/A gets to its eighth year and carries at the heart of Fuorisalone the most genuine identity of the Brazilian culture and way to be, by means of exhibitions, events and workshops focused on creativity and ‘Made-in-Brazil’ production. Brazil S/A, from April 3 to 09, 2017, at the premises of the Milan Study University, Portico Richini and Portico San Nazaro, within the context of INTERNI Material Immaterial.
“Over these eight years, our commitment has always been to offering a view on Brazil and the handcraft culture characterizing the country, always aimed at beauty and finest creativity expression – as stated by the project developer José Roberto Moreira do Valle. Being present at Fuorisalone represents to us the only chance to be the center of international attentions and being able to show our creativity and ability for innovation. We want to offer the chance to experience an actual trip to our lands, while remaining in Milan”
Brazil S/A is not only a set of exposures and exhibitions: it is the one-time chance when you are able to exploit the wide range of artistic qualities, innovation and dynamism distinguishing the Brazilian creative soul, while creating new opportunities for partnership between Italian and Brazilian companies. The ideal context for relaxing and business meeting was provided by Lounge, designed by Vivian Coser, at the disposal, by invitation, of the press and industry professionals.
"The Brazilian design is now viewed as the perfect match between the artistic range of ideas of a country with millenary traditions and its capacity to look to the future with creativity and originality – continues José Roberto Moreira do Valle. Thus, we wanted to call the attention to the product presentation, as if the visitor could appear in the Brazilian world through an open window and exploit creations of designers and design offices that were the most important for their innovation, different materials, flexibility in processes and sustainability, ranging from furniture to lighting, all the way through pottery".
The following exhibitions are expected in Brazil S/A:
About 60 designers will be seen at the “100% Brazil”, among whom, the spotlights are all turned to emergent talents together with reputable names awarded with international prizes. Artistartesão, Leandro Garcia, Gustavo Martini, Ronald Sasson Studio, Sergio Matos, Noemi Saga and Ines Schertel and many others have a common research subject: sustainability, expressed by using wood from certified forests and recycled and native materials, used in an unusual and creative manner.
Vivian Coser is present with an exhibitive space focused on the progetto Sette7, for the first time at Brazil S/A, proposing objects created with noble, unconventional raw materials, through a harmonic creation of innovative technology and design. Characterized by a cosmopolitan, minimalistic style with timeless contours, the collection has its main references based on the Asian, Japanese, and Italian designs.
The Court of Honor of the Milan University is to accept the new project designed by Alê Jordão: GUARD RAIL, an environmental art installation consisting in “furniture-sculptures” assuming the shape of benches, beds and chairs. It is an interesting example of recycled art, which the artist donated to the city of São Paulo to transform a non-place of the Brazilian metropolis into a place for aggregation. The objects were created with standard wire, used to organize the traffic: its twisted shapes became inspiration to create new pieces of the urban furniture.
BEST IN SHOW - CERAMICS OF BRASIL
Brazil S/A is also hosting the BEST IN SHOW - CERAMICS OF BRASIL exposure dedicated to the ceramic industry and the great expressive potentials of such material, with the award-winner creations at EXPO REVESTIR, Brazilian reputable fair for the whole Latin America. Brazil is one of the main international operators for the sector, and this exhibition is a chance to show to the international design community the huge value this sector has in technological terms, but above all the great design content it is able to express.
In addition to exhibitions, the space that Brazil S/A dedicated to official Brazilian design is to host a rich calendar of events, workshops and business meetings, including the release of DW! São Paulo Design Weekend – major Latin American event dedicated to urban planning – and High Design Home & Office Expo, Room focused on furniture and solutions for the architects and interior designers.
