Color Rhythm. The research on materials is fundamental for De Castelli, whose aim is enhancing the characteristics of metal and its potential.

The fascinating shades that oxidation process usually confers to copper and brass led Elisa Ossino to uncover the numerous chromatic chances of two kinds of metal that are often used because of their ornamental and sculptural flexibility. Thinking about Rothko’s canvases, Elisa asked De Castelli to control shades and modulation of their chromatic palettes. Fundamental are the variations of parameters involved in the oxidation process, like time, temperature and handcrafting, so that each metal sheet is classified with a number that gradually follows this process. The final result is a structure that shows the emotional and stunning palettes created with materials, where each chromatic scale composes a geometrical figure in an ensemble characterized by rhythm and lightness.
