Five days of events, meetings, exhibitions and workshops to rediscover innovation and tradition through Haitian design and artisanship, within Isola Design District.
COOPI Cooperazione Internazionale is an independent humanitarian organization founded in Milan in 1965, that fights against all kinds of poverty; COOPI is present in 24 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, with over 150 humanitarian projects.
Between the 5th and 9th of April 2017, COOPI has organized the Haitian Cultural Week, one week of events and meetings, sponsored by the Municipality of Milan and the Embassy of Haiti and supported by the European Union, in order to have the opportunity to rediscover the nature of Haitian design and artisanship.
Every day, from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., it will be possible to visit a photo exhibition, watch videos and documentaries and enjoy an exclusive show of Haitian artisanship, design and art. The admission is free and the event will take place at Stecca 3.0, G. De Castillia 26 street, Milan.

Party / cocktail - Official inauguration of Haitian Cultural Week with opening cocktail and presentation of design and fashion products made by Haitian artisans taking part in the workshop “Culture à porter”, led by Arturo Vittori, designer and architect.

Workshop - Fer Forgé Haitian artisans: discovery of Haitian traditional technique of Fer forgé with a live performance by Jean Eddy Rémy, Haitian artist.

Other - Haitian cooking and colours: meeting with Chiara Alluisini and Federica Bottoli, and live show cooking of Haitian recipes with the Haitian chef Thérèse Théodor.
