Founded in 2007, the brand Lasvit gave new light to Bohemian crystal, taking it into the next millennium. On the occasion of the Milan Design Week, Lasvit presents “Via Lucis”, a trip among unique and contemporary projects enhanced by the know-how and skills of master glassmakers.
The exhibition will be held in the Napoleonic Staterooms of Palazzo Serbelloni, where Napoleon Bonaparte lived during his stay in Milan. For him a set of precious Bohemian-crystal chandeliers were made that today return to their original splendour thanks to the restoration signed by Lasvit.
In such a setting, between past and future, great names like Moritz Waldemayer, Daniel Libeskind, the Campana brothers and Arik Levy, renew their collaboration with LASVIT reinterpreting past collections in a contemporary way.
In its project “Facet”, a contemporary version of the classical chandelier, Moritz Waldemeyer created a glass hexagonal base resembling a diamond. With just one hanging element, or through a combination of many creating a big chandelier, the FACET models stand out in their ordered and geometrical transparency.
