EVENTO: TEMPORARY MUSEUM FOR NEW DESIGN
VOTO: stellina stellina stellina stellina stellina

And so the Fuori Salone, or if you prefer, the Design Week, has officially begun yesterday. To be honest I did not know what to expect but while doing the research and asking my friends that have already experienced this major Italian event last year, I figured it will be best if I will go see Tortona area on the first day of my experience. And so I went there. I have spent on that street more then 6 hours, walking around and taking pictures of various exhibits of design. It was mostly furniture and interior design there. Thousands of new lamps, chairs, tables, bathtubs, wall decorations etc. Every and each of the events there was very well organized and the atmosphere was very nice as the sponsors were giving out free drinks and snacks. The weather was also in our favour. However, I must say that with the sun out, the later it got, the more and more people were coming to this, as far as I know, most popular area for Fuori Salone in Milan. If anyone is a newbie in Milan and Design Week, I would definitely recommend going to Tortona area for just anybody. Make sure you plan your all day to do so though. In the afternoon to see the events and designs, and after 6pm to have a good time with your friends in numerous party events hosted around there. One place that I would specially say one should see, if one haven't done so already, is the Temporary Museum For New Design on via Tortona 27. They host many interactive and interesting designs. And in one place, you can see a good variety of different and unique new designs that are meant to make people's lives better and more pleasurable. The event that I remember the most is the LIXIL one. The idea of taking a bath in a tub full of foam is indeed “a new desire” of mine, which is also the slogan of the company. Also the designs of the bathtubs, even though seem simple, one may say are very alluring to the human eye. Even though I have spent in the Tortona area so much time on tuesday already, I feel like I will surely go there again during this week. To explore more futuristic designs that may soon take over our houses and lives.
