Cherished

Cherished is Diederik Schneemann’s latest project. Starting point is the concept of collecting. Often using old collections, which people gathered and cherished in the course of decades, and which now lay wasting away in attics or cellars. These collections evoke a certain era, early memories or youth sentiment. Think matchboxes, pins, perfume bottles or… Smurfs. He transforms these collections into new objects, where the collection, regains a new reality, a new life, a new object to cherish.
