Hands on Design - 2019 Collection

Hands on Design continues its research and synergy path between designers and artisans oriented to experimentation and innovation, and presents about 20 new products in the 2019 collection.

  The team of artisans is enriched with Bottega Intreccio, a project born in 2014 in Mogliano (Marche, central Italy) to preserve the traditional weaving technique; they creates for HoD centerpiece-containers designed by Setsu&Shinobu Ito and a vase made of ceramic and wicker designed by Studio Lido.

  From the prefecture of Shizuoka (Japan) joined the team Hikimonojo 639, wood turner extremely devoted to detail, and Maison TEAxtile, who collaborated with the artist Claudio Onorato for the realization of an evocative tapestry dyed with green tea. From the collaboration between the craftsman Lorenzo Franceschinis and Ilkka Suppanen, Finnish and new entry among designers, is born a series of bowls with archetypal charm; the young studio Sovrappensiero, on the other hand, designs a pair of vessels with harmonic and unusual shapes. Shuji Nakagawa, renowned master of wood, collaborates with Alessandro Stabile for a simple and functional re-design of the Ohitsu (traditional Japanese container for rice).  

  This year Hands on Design will be among the exhibitors of Doppia Firma, a project born from the collaboration between the Michelangelo Foundation, Cologni Foundation and Living Corriere, with a pair of vases designed by Gum Design studio and manufactured by Japanese craftsman Risogama in Arita porcelain.
