The Visit is a custom-made project by Studiopepe for the Brera Design Apartment in the 2017 edition of the Fuorisalone. Accessible by appointment only.
On this occasion Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto from Studiopepe collaborated with Matteo Artemisi and Sonia Pravato with the purpose of going beyond the traditional approach to spaces and interiors and tell about a ritual: the ritual of visiting.
Like Chiara and Arianna state, “the visit is an act implying a physical place and the people who host and are hosted there. We started from the intimate environment of a flat. The houses of people living in the city. We believe that our home is the physical transposition of our inner world. A house that we would like to be on a human scale, full of the things that make us happy, inhabited by the people we like, a dynamic world changing with us with fluid barriers and nomadic furniture whose function may change over time. A place where beauty wraps us and is our daily life companion”.
The project was custom-made on the Brera flat with an intimate approach, a touch full of memory with digressions in art and fashion. The words of Studiopepe clearly explain this idea: “Creativity has many facets and we want to describe our vision exploring these worlds. Life itself is a fluid flow of experiences. The experience at the root of The Visit. The experience of entering a space describing its inhabitants not through artificial signs of life, but through a precise and meticulous layering of signs, codes and visions. This is for us a home in its deepest meaning, be it a private house or a boutique hotel or any place linked to the concepts of welcome and storytelling.”
The Visit reproduces the structure of an early 19th-century Milanese flat between rooms with large windows, stuccoes and herringbone parquet floors. Some spaces were redesigned through the use of curtains, while doors and windows were incorporated in a wider wall drawing plan, definitely one of the key elements of the project.
The furniture used for the space were signed by great masters such as Gio Ponti relaunched by Molteni&C, Vittoriano Viganò with Astep, Jean Prouvè with Vitra, Angelo Mangiarotti with Agape Casa, Ettore Sottsass with Bitossi.
Among the many brands involved are Agape, Agapecasa, Astep, Atelier De Troupe, Aytm, Bang & Olufsen, Bitossi Home, Bonotto, Bulthaup, Camo, cc-tapis, Cedit, FENIXNTM, Florim, Fumagalli e Dossi, Green Wise, Lambert Et Fils, Leftover, L'Opificio, Menu, Molteni&C, Pietro Russo Design Studio, Sfera, Shuj, Sikkens, Spotti Edizioni, Valverde, Via Saterna, Vitra.
The Visit is a project that will continue also after the end of the Fuorisalone week and will be enlivened by talks, dinners, meetings, experiences accessible by appointment only.
