BINARY CONSTELLATIONS

A binary star is a solar system in which two stars orbit around a common center of mass. Simone Masetto Maghe and An Yuanyuan worked moving around a common center: the Studio Milulibox located in Via Druso 5 in Milan (Lambrate District), on the occasion of Studifestival # 2 also welcomes visitors of Fuorisalone 2016. In this specific circumstance artists have interacted creating a unique work made up of 48 paintings and 10 small sculptures all characterized by the textile medium. Simone Masetto Maghe (Venezia) using velvet as the survey site. The discoloration of the fabric creates abstract shapes in a suspended time where we can ideally see the Cosmo or a galaxy. His paintings have a physical dimension denoted by the softness of the material, but does not refer to the physical nature of the vision of a heavenly vault. An Yuanyuan (Beijing) works with stones and minerals collected and found. His intention is to show how the beauty of nature is unchangeable. Indeed it wraps small stones with iron and cotton fil because human intervention can not always make improvements. They look like small planets-gem that deviate is that by the artificial from the natural. The two artists have worked closely telling one another to find a point of connection between a macro and a micro view of the world. They overlap and intertwine in an attempt to represent what ideally we know the universe and ourselves. Not to be missed!!!!
