Alpi presents Gamperana Triplex, the wood that wasn’t there

The exploration of new interpretations and design potentialities of wood is the starting point for the latest collaboration with Martino Gamper who, through his new proposal guides us to rediscover the side of ALPI more deeply linked to research.

With the accent on the workmanship and creation process, in which he participates firsthand, and thanks to his extensive knowledge of the raw material, the designer has invented “Gamperana Triplex,” a new type of wood that does not exist in nature. The phase of cutting of ALPI logs becomes part of the creative process of the designer, with a decisive role in the achievement of the final results.

An exciting challenge that led the designer to gradually interpret the wood, dissecting it and putting it back together: a concept of play that returns in the name “Gamperana Triplex,” in imaginary Latin. A cognitive approach to the material that perfectly embodies his modus operandi and his poetics. Martino Gamper has the desire to experiment in his DNA, to research, remix, reposition and recontextualize. The result is a collection characterized by a geometric texture that plays on the combination of natural tones and color accents

For the first time, with this new collection, the veneer sheets will not be supplied individually, but in sets of three, identical in the choice of color and geometry, but different in the arrangement of the hues, creating original compositional effects

Once again this year the art director of the company, Piero Lissoni, presents his own personal interpretation of wood materials, enhancing the offerings of the Wood Collection with new proposals. The result is a special interpretation of cherry wood and the strength of its colors, declined in three gradual shades, Blush Cherry, Honey Cherry and Sienna Cherry.
