Area Porta Romana presents "Design for sharing"

The initiative aims to promote the works of makers, independent designers who self-produce their projects. Seats and tables rigorously Made in Italy, built at zero kilometers and through a short and sustainable supply chain.

Area Porta Romana renews and enriches its presence at Design Week 2019 by launching "Design for Sharing".

The arcades of the Rotonda della Besana, from 9 to 14 April 2019, will host "Design for Sharing": the first exhibition of shared design. The initiative aims to promote the works of makers, independent designers who self-produce their projects.

Seats and tables rigorously zero-mile and Made in Italy, built through a "short" and sustainable supply chain (divided into a wide range of aspects: from the search for eco-compatible solutions in design to the development of materials reuse practices), will be exhibited and they will physically represent the concept of "sharing" inserted in spaces of reading and dialogue, of listening and reflection, of meeting and exchange of books. The works will be contextualized in green rooms set up by the Arch. Paola Savoldi with the partecipation of the architect Jacopo Gardella, Onfuton - Abitare sostenibile, and the designers Gaia Maveri and Luca Baroni with the contribution of the Podere di San Fiorano, an entrepreneurial reality born in the second decade of the 1900, in San Fiorano (Lodi), which found new splendor thanks to the recovery of the ancient greenhouses and opened the doors to the public, thus becoming a place to live as well as a classic nursery. In this setting will also be presented the project of the Politecnico of Milan “Sharing-Mi”:  the brand new social platform developed by the consortium Poliedra with the Benefit Corporation greenApes, an initiative that rewards eco-sustainable citizens in the city of Milan. In the SharingMi community you can share virtuous behaviors, accumulating points, called BankoNuts, which allow users to redeem rewards thanks to the network of eco-partners that joined the project.

The publishing house Mursia will participate at the Rotonda della Besana with various titles from the series “Leggi RTL 102.5” - born from the partnership with RTL 102.5 the first Italian radio network - to make the “Design for Sharing” moments even more special.
