PlayWood | Creating Open Design Furniture

Playwood is an innovative assembling system which simplifies the assembly and allows anyone to create his/her own furniture, following simple instructions. Playwood is modular furniture that can be assembled, disassembled and reconfigured simply and quickly as many times as you want. Being able to change and adapt the features the Playwood system offers helps create many strengths in our ever-changing society, but this is not the only feature embracing the philosophy of the open design (or shared planning), downloadable projects and libraries are available to everybody to make furniture anywhere in the world, using local materials and avoiding transportation costs.

This is because Playwood is not just a product but a platform for sharing. With the development of digital tools and production by means of numerical control (CNC) it is possible, delocalize and sustainable production. Designers and creative people from around the world can help contribute to the development of the project. This creates a network of people collaborating in the manufacture and finish of the products, then to be delivered to the customer.
