GRAND DANOIS, Milan 2008
Grand Danois conquers Milan
Danish design is much more than Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner. Even though we pay respect to our design tradition and the old masters, it’s time to create a new foundation for modern Danish design – especially in an international perspective.
Grand Danois is a unique project with a mission to promote new Danish design abroad and in a proactive and dynamic manner that will challenge the traditional way of exhibiting companies and products.
During Milan Design Week, from the 16th to 21st of April 2008, Grand Danois will conquer Milan with an exhibition that presents the best of the new generation of Danish designers and Danish design companies. But design is more than just furniture and interior. The exhibition will integrate fashion, music, art and food in a total experience that will transform the exhibition space into a holistic zone that stimulates all our senses.
The exhibition will be located in the center of Zona Torona at Via Forcella 7. The Location is an old photo studio placed in a warehouse. During Milan Design Week the 220m2 exhibition space will be a meeting place and chill-out area for everybody in the design business: visitors, buyers, press, opinion holders, students etc.
The exhibiting designers and design companies include: Muuto, Mater, Design by Us, Christian Flindt, FurnID, Gam & Fratesi, Cecilie Manz, Dorte Agergaard etc.
All the exhibitors have established themselves as the prime of new Danish design. And though each of them is founded in the Danish design tradition, they all have a different approach to design.
Grand Danois invites you to take part in this extraordinary event and visit our exhibition at Via Forcella 7.
Grand Danois is organized by the Danish media and concept bureau Yellow Ducks, Danish Industries and The Danish Wood Initiative.
Kind regards,
Yellow Ducks
