Milan (Italy), April 15, 2008 – PERSOL : VISIONI – Design in viaggio is a creative design project which Persol presents at its third year at the 47th Furniture Fair in Milan, reinforcing its tie to Italian and international style and design with its own exhibition space within the Fuorisalone Zona Tortona (SUPERSTUDIO 13, Via Forcella, 13 – entrance on via Bugatti).
PERSOL : VISIONI – Design in viaggio is born out of the idea of involving talented individuals from contemporary design in a creative project that celebrates the values of Persol, a brand of style, with a strong heritage of design, substance and genuine values.
At the Furniture Fair in Milan, Persol presents brand new journeys to Italy by design figures and personalities from contemporary culture. Exclusively for Persol, they present short films and news photographs, which synthesize the creative visions inspired by Persol in a contemporary language: Persol is substance behind style; these journeys present the personal vision behind design and creativity.
These personalities are selected for their pioneering spirit, their determination and their attitude towards creative work. Like Persol, they create beautiful objects in the very sense that they stand out for their independence and their glamour beyond fashions that change.
The videos and photographs are reconstructed in the event space around the visitor, who is immersed in a formative journey through suggestions of a Persol lifestyle. Fixed images, videos, soundscapes and design materials bring to life the glamour of a journey of international talent inspired by an Italian object, Persol eyewear, that owing to its original characteristics – high quality of materials, exclusive technology, attention to detail – adorns faces with its unmistakable appeal in every time and place.
The product is both the inspiration and star of this project. In 2008 Persol confirms its tendency to working on a design of tradition and a design of innovation, dividing their eyewear into two different product concepts: PERSOL COLLEZIONE SUPREMA, on the market since 2007, is the part of the collection dedicated to re-issuing the brand’s historical icons (PERSOL 649, 714, 009, 2873 S, 2869 S) and PERSOL COLLEZIONE DESIGN, the part of the collection that since 2008 includes substantial technological innovations in design and materials (PERSOL 2864 S for men and PERSOL 2866 S for woman, two pioneer models of the collection). The collections are for sale at the best optical stores and at select Concept Stores in Italy and abroad.
