Invited by Pegatron Corporation, 12 young designers are going to attend Salone International Del Mobile 2008 di Milano on16th April, 2008. 12 benches will be exhibited for the theme “Posture of Time”.
Bench is the most common as well as the iconic furniture in the traditional oriental culture, especially in Taiwan. Inspirited from the individual experiences and memories of benches, the 12 designers present the contemporary Taiwanese culture through the creative-design benches.
In this exhibition, the Taiwanese designers’ great originalities and the Taiwanese skillful carpenter masters successfully demonstrate the true Taiwan culture and style.
Some of the works even used the Taiwan endemic juniper, which is good smell, strong, and insects proofing. However, those junipers this time were all recycled from the decayed old buildings. Therefore, in the furniture exhibit in Milano, there are not only presenting Taiwan great creativity and ingenious crafts, but also showing Taiwan unique biological environment, and particularly Taiwan’s efforts on the environment protection.
