A journey from art to the object, from an imaginary to a real world, through several experiments performed on wood, a material able to express imagination through colours and signs, through a careful study of forms and structures.
Tabu produces a high technology material, analysed and interpreted by the artist in order to find out its hidden expressive potentials.
For the realization of these works,
The creative process starts from polychromatic solid wood, an ideal element which allows constant variations in relief and colour, and ends with the creation of exceptional pieces, sculpture objects, carved with gouges, chisels and other carving tools.
The artist’s work, always carried out with the study of forms and functions, created unique objects, real hybridization among art, design and technology.
A set of multicolour panels are on display and they perfectly match the objects: they are unique editions of original prints, worked following the ancient and traditional methods of Art Printing, realized on new bases as dyed wood sheets produced by Tabu, an old manufacture able to suggest aesthetical solutions, diversified and charming.
Art and industry, a dialogue bound to continue.
The great creative freedom expressed by an artistic production obtained only with manual instruments and following ideational processes linked to personal feelings, allows the creation of forms, drawings, chromatic solutions able to turn into objects, shapes and applications which are endlessly repeatable thanks to the use of machines.

BIOGRAPHY
Professor of “Graphics and Engraving technique” at the Brera School of Fine Arts in Milan, she exposed and lectured in Europe and US.
Artist strongly experimental studies the connection between the more different expressive languages, as painting, engraving techniques, handprint, sculpture and photography and their possible connection, accompanied by attentive research into the potential of materials for light reflection and colour effects as well as depth of incision.
The artistic and creative collaboration with Tabu Spa aroused a great deal of interest in 2007 during an important and major event: “The tree of Wonders”, an exhibition of works inspired by wood created by
The artist has collaborated with Tabu also during 2008:
she took part at “Skin” exhibition, during Made Expo with her work “Spring”; she realized the didactic-artistic project in collaboration with the department of design of Academy of Fine Arts in Tallinn, Estonia, with a new edition of the exhibition “The Tree of Wonders” at SooSoo Gallery- Tallinn, 5th – 18th March 2008, and she held a workshop at the department of Design of Tallinn Academy, during the exhibition.
Alessandra Angelini’s work has been the subject of numerous personal and collective exhibitions in italy, the United States, Great Britain, South Africa, Poland and Switzerland.
Her works can be found in the collection of both national and international museum – including the Bertarelli Collection of Prints in Milan, the Museo Cantonale in Lugano, the Swiss National Library in Berna, the Civica Raccolta di Disegno della Città di Salò, the Villa dei Cedri Civic Museum in Bellinzona, the Indiana University Art Museum (USA), the Civic Museum Ala Ponzone in Cremona, the international Museum of Graphic Arts in Francavilla al Mare.
