During the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, one of the leading design fairs in the world, which takes place from April 16th until April 21st 2008, Plexwood will be presenting its “Gallery in Motion” at Via Forcella 13 in Zona Tortona.
Milan airport, April 15th, 2008. Countless people from countries all over the world arrive in the city of design to see the latest trends and to be inspired by creative presentations. But how do they find their way, since they may not have the knowledge of the Italian language? It’s the pictograms and icons that show the right path - not only at airports – because they are understood universally. The generality and simplicity of these visual means of communication tear down the barriers that one will usually encounter, when communicating by speech and script.
The presentation of Plexwood with designs by Frank Heerema goes to the roots of these symbols. It will show icons of natural forms in a surprisingly exceptional way to introduce the product to a multicultural audience. The structures, forms and rhythms of Mother Nature have always been a source of inspiration for architecture and design. Plexwoods “Gallery in Motion” seeks to stimulate the viewer’s fantasy and to evoke new design concepts. As the presentation goes beyond a motionless stage setting, visitors can experience or even create individual scenes and thus become part of the “Gallery in Motion”.
We invite the press for our press preview on April 15th, 2008 from 2 to 8 p.m. Besides, we offer the possibility for the press to take individual photos by arranging a unique scenery on April 15th between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. If you’re interested, you can contact us until April 14th to make an appointment.
